What really must happen is for the desktop workarea to be set correctly. Well my next suggestion would be switching resolutions and toggling portrait/landscape mode. i guess generic Microsoft, but I'm totally not sure. Problem is I'm not sure which driver was installed previously.
funny thing it actually does improve the sound, but yeah it's pretty clear that this is happening since I installed the driver. Well I think I should probably try rolling back that Realtek audio driver - which I got from msi website for exactly my motherboard btw. I tried everything i could think of, taskbar position, turned off snap, scalling on off. which it previously didn't especially for certain apps. Also windows generally keeps forgetting the sizes and positions of windows. I've noticed it with chrome just now which worked normal previously, basically "maximize" is broken, it's like it thinks the taskbar is bigger than it really is and therfore will always default to have this weird 1-2cm gap. Well turns out other apps have the same issue, the only difference is wmp works slightly different as it by default always tries to run in this mini window. Haven't used WMP is eons so no clue if that has any options for stuff like that. Only other thing I can imagine is renderer/codecs causing it.
